But this explanation is wrong; for a and Я are inactive by themselves, and cannot produce anything unless helped by the mobile रजस्. वंशीधर's explanation, viz.,—' समधीन्द्रियाणि मनोऽपेक्षयाऽल्पसत्त्वत्वेन राजसकार्यत्वेनैव स्मृतिषु निर्दिष्टान्यत्र तु व्यष्टीन्द्रियापेक्षयाऽधिकसत्वत्वेन सात्विकाहङ्कारकार्यतयोक्तानीत्यविरोधः । " is very lame ( See सांख्यतत्वकौमुदीटीका of वंशीधर.
