PREFACE
Pandit Dr. Sukhlalji Sanghvi who has enriched Indian Philosophy by his searching, thoughtprovoking, manifold writings, passed away on 2nd March, 1978, leaving a vacuum in the field. He was associated with the L. D. Tostitute of Indology from its very inception; he ably guided the academic pursuits of the Institute, in his capacity of an academic adviser. As a mark of our appreciation of his remarkable, singular contribution to Indian Philosophy and as a token of our love and respect for him, we are publishing Studies in Indian Philo. sophy-a memorial volu'ne in honour of Pandit Sukhlalji Sanghvi in the year of his centenary.
I take this opportunty to express my deep sense of grari. tude towards the learned professors and scholars who have contributed their research papers to this memorial volume and thus helped us in our project. I hope the volume will be of immense value to those interested in the studies of Indian Philosophy.
