________________ Q. 114. Define Absence (Abhava). 39 Non-existence of one substance into the other substance is called "absence' (abhava).. Q. 115. How many kinds of ‘absence' (abhavas) are there? Q. 117. There are four kinds of absence :-- (i) Praagabhava. (ii) Pradhvansabhava. (iii) Anyonya abhava. (iv) Atyanta abhava. Q. 116. Define Praaga abhava. The absence (non-existence) of the present modification in the former (past) modification (of a substance) is called praag abhava. (Negation of this would mean that the present modification shall be existing since beginning less period.) Define Pradhvansa abhava. The absence (non-existence) of the present modification in the posterior (future) modification (of a substance) is called Pradhvans abhava.
