That substance which itelf does not undergo or perfrom the action or function but which is treated as the most suitable (accompanying, associating cause) in the origination of that action or function, is called the instrumental cause. In making a pot (jar of clay) the potter, the stick, the wheel etc., are the instrumental causes. (instrumental cause is not the true, real cause, it is just like a non-cause, because it is only conventionally or empirically
called to be a cause.) Q. 133. What is the rule of a substantive cause and
the presence of instrumental cause (s)? [N. B.- For the answer of this question, the
