In the Dhanvantarinighantu the reading 'hira' occurs. But in the quotation from this Dhanvantarinighantu the commentator has changed 'hira' into 'vira'. v. 103 In this verse the halves are found in reverse order. v. 159 (Second half): The commentator notes the variant vasika with the remark 'eke'. But this reading is available in the mss. of the Nighantusesakosa belonging to different groups. Moreover, such variants are in umberable in the Nighantusesakosa. So, what is the use of noting one or two variants ? v. 160 (Second half): The verse occurring in the commentary and also the mss. of the Nighantusesakosa give the reading 'andakah' ('agnikah is our corrected reading), while the mss. of the commentary contain the explanation of agnikah. What could be the reason of this discrepancy? v. 167: The reading available to the commentator is darvi daruharidrayam', while the mss. of the Nighantusesa contain the reading daruharidrayan dardi'. Looking to the structure of the Nighantusesakosa we feel that the latter reading is more appropriate. v. 185. (Second half): The verse of the Nighantusesa kosa occurring in the commentary and the mss. of the Nighantusesakosa give the reading 'bhutakesy a pi' instead of 'bhutavesy a pi' ('bhutavesy api' is our corrected reading) while the commentary follows the reading 'bhutavesy api'. The quotation from the Dhanvantarinighantu, occurring in the g 9 ms, gives the reading bhutuvesi, while the same quotation occurring in the 9 3 ms. gives the reading bhutakesi, The Dhanvantarinighantu, the Amarakosa, etc. give the reading bhutavesi only. v. 193 (First half): The ms. I 9 (containing the commentary) and ms. g of the Nighantusesa give the reading 'manjirasimbika' and the commentary too follows it.
