In reply to your letter of 15-7-37 I write to say that you are correct in your observations concerning the inscriptions of the Lion Capital from Mathurā. There is no mention of Nahapana in these inscriptions. Nahapana lived more than a hundred years after the date of the Lion Capital.
There is nothing in the inscriptions of the Lion Capital to connect this monument with the Jains........
