Then he expounds the terms bhale, arhanii and Om namah which mark the auspicious begioning. Pariccheda I is entitled Siksa-pariccheda. Having introduced in brief the definition and purpose of Kavya and the utility of siksas in its composition, the author presents certain siksas (instructions ) for the composition of Kavya (poetry), such as examples of the non-exposition of existing phenomena and the exposition of non-existing phenomena, examples of composition in various metres, examples of the description of various colours, the sub-varieties of the circular shape, the depiction of various qualities and the vivid description of various topics to be described in a mahakavya. Pariccheda II deals with Kriya-nirnaya. A number of verbs given in their third person singular forms are enumerated in verse. Then follows an exposition of numerous verbs given in prose along with their roots, meanings and ganas. Pariccheda III, entitled Lokakausalya-pariccheda, makes the reader conversant with the various ways of the world. Here the author first enumerates several entities numbering one, two, three etc. ranging upto eighty-four laksas. Next he expounds terms of collective nouns including the names of regions constituting different numbers of places. Then he gives some select sayings (abhan ikas) in Sanskrit and Prakrit. The author then gives examples of verses composed through conversance with various branches of learning, well-known works of the past and various subjects of general knowledge. He next proceeds to supply illustrations of kavya that delights the ear through the repetition of similar syllables. Kavya here includes literary compositions in prose, according to its wide conception in Sanskrit poetics. The author, accordingly, quotes several passages from the Harsacarita. Lastly he enumerates several similes (upamas) for a number of various topics to be described in Poetry. Pariccheda IV deals with bijavyavarnana. It contains examples of the description of bijas of various topics such as Jina, Hara, Brahma, Hari and so on. Here also some of the examples are cited from the Harsacarita. Then follow examples of metaphor, hyperbole and other figures of speech. Pariccheda V presents a lexicographic exposition of homonyms (anekarthas) arranged according to different principles.
