संजमधुवजोगजुत्ते उवसंते अविहेडए जे स भिक्खू
A monk is one who never narrates such stories that would invite quarrels, who never gets angry, who always controls his senses, who firmly observes the rules of self-control, who is calm and never disregards others.
जो कलह करने वाली कथावार्ता नहीं करता, जो गुस्सा नहीं करता, जिस की इन्द्रियाँ संयम में हैं, जो मन, वचन और काया के योग- सहित संयम में निश्चल है, जो उपशान्त है और जो औरों का अनादर नहीं करता, वह भिक्षु है
સાધુ તે કહેવાય કે જે કલેશકંકાસ થાય તેવી કથાવાર્તા કરે નહિ, જે ગુસ્સો કરે નહિ, જે ઇન્દ્રિયોને સંયમમાં રાખનાર હોય, મન, વચન અને કાયાના જેના યોગો સંયમમાં નિશ્ચિતપણે જોડાયેલા હોય, જે ઉપશાંત હોય અને જે બીજાનો અનાદર કરતા ન હોય.
