Jain Munishri Maitriprabh Sagarji has been arrested by UP police for his non-violent protest of fast unto death at Baraut, Baagpat (U.P). He started his fast on April 26, 2011 in protest of issuing 10 new licenses for new slaughter-houses. All the proposed ultra-modern slaughter-houses will have a capacity to butcher 10,000-20,000 animals per day and the meat will be exported out of India.
