Under the direction of pathshala teachers, over one-hundred children between the ages of seven and fifteen particitated in the construction of a magnificent Samo- vasaran. Jain Ecation International 2010_02 A wide cross section of the Indian community gathered at the Jain Center on Sunday, May 1, 1994 to pay a tearful tribute to Acharya Sushil Kumar Ji. Among the hundreds of Jain families and community leaders were: Mahesh Gupta, President of Overseas Friends of BJP, Shiva Subramanyam representing the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America, Ramesh Gandhi, President of the Federation of Hindu Associations, Mohinder Singh, Editor of the L. A. India Journal, Inder Jain of the International Mahavir Mission, Harish Dhury of the Friends of India Society, Haribhai of the BSS Swaminarayan Temple, and many others. Guruji was culogized as an untiring crusader and champion of peace and non-violence. The Fourth Annual Medical Camp that is jointly sponsored by the Jain Center of Southern California and the Jain Social Group of Los Angeles, was very successful. The event was organized at the center on May 8, 1994 and provided an excellent opportunity for the elderly, visitors, and the local families to obtain an expert medical examination, with follow-up advice for free. Over thirty physicians and specialists in ayurvedic, asthma, general practice, internal medicne, cardiology, psychiatry, gynecology. orthopedics, E. N. T.. pediatrics, urology, optomery, ophthalmology, astroenterlogist.. pharmacy and dentistry examined almost 200 patients. These on-site examinations were followed up with lab reports and analysis of the blood samples. A musical dance drama on Dreams of Trishla Devi was presented by twenty children dressed in beautiful costumes. The drama was directed by Kokila Doshi with the help of Parul Kothari and Jagruti Maniar. The society has a membership of thirty-five families and meets once a month. BM Cast of Dreams of Trishla Devi San Francisco, CA About 425 people celebrated Mahavir Jayanti at the center. The program began with a Snatra Pooja followed by stavans that were presented by the children. The highlights of the celebration included two inspiring lectures, one by Navin Dedhia on the Message of Bhagavan Mahavir and the other by Harendra Shah on Anekantvad.
