________________ Kanya Chhatralaya Opens Ahmedabad, India - The Shri Mahavira Jain Vidyalaya (MJV) of Bombay announces that it has just purchased a facility for a Kanya Chhatralaya (a hostel for young ladies) in Ahmedabad, India that will provide lodging and boarding for about 50 college girls at an estimated cost of over $300,000. "The MJV, an educational institution that maintains the highest standards, has supported over 8,000 bright and needy Jain students. Tattvartha Sutra in English Middlesex, England - The Institute of Jainology will introduce the Tattvartha Sutra, (in English) the first book of Jain scriptures in the Sacred Literature Series, in ceremonies at St. James Palace on July 25, 1994. This Sacred Literature Series is dedicated to sacred books of many faiths and will be launched by H. R. H. Prince Philip, President of the International Sacred Literature Trust. JAINA Charitable Trust An Appeal for Membership During the past twelve years Jains in North America have seen the ever increasing activities of JAINA. Our most important responsibility is to see that these activities continue and help maintain a meaningful Jain environment.
