________________ 1995 CONVENTION UPDATE The Eighth Biennial JAINA Convention theme. Jainism / Non-Violence and Peace when: July 1, 2, 3, 1995 where. Cherry Hill, N.J. sponsored by: The Federation of Jain Association of North America hosted by The Jain Sangh, Cherry Hill, New Jersey EARLY BLOCK REGISTRATION OPPORTUNITY TO EXHIBIT Have you ever thought about getting your entire Sangh involved? Have you ever thought giving your youth a project about Jain philosophy, stories, principals and educating them in a fun way? It would be wonderful for your local Sangh to plan an exhibit at the convention. You may win first, second or third prize... these kinds of projects create strong bonds and pride in your Sangh... and you look good as a leader!!! One of the great accomplishments of '93 convention was the exhibit from Boston Jain Center and Cleveland Jain Center. They were dynamic, participative, educational for all ages and fun!!! Our youth and children love these kinds of educational tools. At this time next year the 1995 JAINA Convention will be history. Those who did not attend will be hearing from their friends about the smashing success it was, how they enjoyed it, and how their children enjoyed it because they made new friends and learned more about Jainism. The Jain Sangh of Cherry Hill, NJ is already working very hard to make it the best convention ever. But only you, the members of other Sanghs in North America can insure the success of such a large event by giving ideas, volunteering to share some of the responsibilities and above all by attending. We are expecting 10,000 happy, excited visitors cheering their leaders, being with their friends, relatives and loved ones, but most importantly committed to Jain religion and traditions. You will want to be there. The Cherry Hill Sangh is proposing Early Block Registration wherein families can register in advance through their local Jain Center and in turn receive a discount in the registration fee and motel charges. It will also enable families, of a given center, to live in the same motel making it easy for their children to perform in one of the evening programs. Jain Center presidents are requested to get early commitments from their members during Paryushan Parva. Tocommit your local Sangh to a specified number of tickets. Names of families preregistering in this manner will appear in the convention souvenir under their Sangh's names as supporters. Suggestions for creating an exhibit: 1. Non Violence and its Benefits 2. Anekantavada 3. Aparigraha 4. Jain Monk's Life 5. 14 Dreams of Trishala 6. Jain Teerth 7. Vegetarianism 8. Re-incarnation We shall be more than happy to work with you on any ideas and subjects you may have in mind.
