(34) EXPLANATION :
All celestial and earthly pleasures are absolutely insignificant as compared to the happiness of a holy being engrossed in his own 'Self'. Neither Lord Indra, the King of Gods, nor any of the great universal monarchs is ever able to obtain even a drop of the eternal ecstasy that overflows from the heart of an unattached ascetic. By virtue of an ascetic's nonattachment, Ultimates Bliss comes to rest in his heart.
The joys of Kinghood as well as Godhood are, on the other hand very transient since the attachment to their sources generates a subconscious fear of their loss. શ્લોકાઈઃ
આત્મજ્ઞાની, વીતરાગી એવા મુનિના મનમાં જેવું સુખ સ્થિરતા રે છે તેવું તો રાગી એવા ઇન્દ્રને કે ચક્વર્તીને પણ ઉપલબ્ધ નથી એવું હું માનું છું. (૩૪) ભાવાનુવાદ:
સંસારનું દેખાતું બાહયસુખ અને મુનિના આત્યંતર સુખ વચ્ચે શું તફાવત છે? એ અત્રે સ્પષ્ટ કર્યું છે. આ સમજવા માટે “જ્ઞાનસાર’ ના ઉદ્ધરણો અત્રે પ્રસ્તુત છે.
भूशय्या, भैक्षमशनं, जीर्णं वासो गृहं वनं ।
तथापि निःस्पृहस्याहो, चक्रिणोऽप्यधिकं सुखं ॥ નિસ્પૃહ મુનિને પૃથિવીરૂપ શવ્યા છે. ભિક્ષાથી ભોજન કરવાનું છે. જીર્ણ વસ્ત્ર, તેમજ અરણ્યરૂપ ઘર છે. તો પણ તે ચક્રવર્તીથી પણ અધિક સુખી છે. “નિર્મય રવિ યોગ, નિત્યાનનને '' અજાતશત્રુ, નિર્ભય યોગી આનંદરૂપ નંદનવનમાં વિહાર કરી સુખ ભોગવે છે. આજ
