Both happiness and liberation come from dhyāna; for this reason, one should always try to practise dhyāna. There is nothing greater than dhyāna'. Those who perform dhyāna are dear to Siva, not those who only perform the rituals. buddhi-praväha-rūpasya dhyānasyäsyāvalambanam, dhyeyam ity ucyate sadbhis tacca sāmbaḥ svayam śivah.
