The Mandal organizes 5 annual functions, which are Sankrant, Holi, Picnic, Ganesh Chaturthi and Diwali. Maharashtrian people attend these programs with great enthusiasm. To promote the awareness of Maharashtrian Culture and Language among our children a Marathi language class was started. As of now many children attending the class, which is held every Sunday at HSNC. We are very proud of Maharashtra and Maharashtrian Culture. For this year our contact number is 919-467-9598. North Carolina Bengali Association (NCBA) is a registered tax deductible organization by expatriate Indians of Bengalee origin and also some from Bangladesh in the State of North Carolina, USA. It was started in January 1990. Bengal is a state in India around Kolkata, where people speaks a language called Bengali, Its activities are mostly social and community oriented such as Saraswati puja, Rabindra - Nazrul Jayanti, picnic, Durga puja and other philanthropic activities. This mission is implemented in collaboration with governments at various levels, communities, corporations and other NGOs. Pratham's success is due to its emphasis using exiting facilities and resou rces, extensive use of local volunteers, very low cost and easy reliability of its programs. Pratham has caught the imagination of people in the US in a fairly big way. This interest led to the establishment of Pratham USA (www.prathamusa.org) which raises significant amount of funds to support Pratham INDIA. Sampige preserves and promotes the rich culture, heritage, language and music from Karnataka. It establishes a common forum for the people from Karnataka to meet and interact. Kannada is the primary language spo ken by the people from Karnataka. Sampige organizes Kannada cultural activities. Triangle Orissa Association is an organization committed to preserve and promote Oryia culture, fellowship and fraternity among members of the Oryia community in Triangle, to strive for their progress and prosperity, to foster unity and enrich harmony with other social groups. It works towards these objectives by arranging family-oriented cultural, social and religious programs, gatherings, talks, meetings and panel discussion s. It encourages arts, literature, oratorical, scholastic and leadership qualities amongst its members.
