________________ 166 Gandhi's Teachers : Rajchandra Ravjibhai Mehta सिद्धतुल्यान् समान जीवान् यो जानाति भवेत् स सः। अर्हत्स्थितिगुरोराज्ञा निमित्तं तत्र विद्यते ।।१३८।। All jivas (living beings) are inherently liberated. One who knows this also becomes liberated. The following of true teacher's precepts is an auxiliary cause for liberation. 136 उपादाननू नाम लई, ए जे तजे निमित्त। पामे नहीं सिद्धत्वने, रहे भ्रांतिमां स्थित ।।१३६।। उपादानच्छलेनैव निमित्तानि त्यजन्ति ये। लभन्ते सिद्धभावं नो भ्रान्ताः स्युस्ते उत ध्रुवम्।।१३६।। One who putting forth the real principal cause deceitfully gives up the auxiliary cause (as in verse 135), does not find liberation and remain fixed in fallacy forever. 137 मुखथी ज्ञान कथे अने, अंतर छूटयो न मोह। ते पामर प्राणी करे, मात्र ज्ञानीनो द्रोह ।।१३७।। वक्ति ज्ञानकथां वक्त्राच्चित्तं मोहतमावृतम्। यस्य रङ्कस्य मर्त्यस्य ज्ञानिद्रोही स केवलम् ।।१३७|| Those poor people (low in Knowledge) who preach knowledge verbally but are inside covered with delusion, show hostility to those with knowledge. 138 दया, शांति, समता, क्षमा, सत्य, त्याग, वैराग्य । होय मुमुक्षु घट विषे, एह सदाय सुजाग्य ।।१३८।। दया शान्तिः क्षमा साम्यं वैराग्यं त्याग-सत्यते। मुमुक्षुहृदये नित्यमते स्युः प्रकटा गुणाः ।।१३८।। Compassion, peace, forgiveness, equanimity, renunciation, non-attachment, and truth, these qualities are always present in the heart of a soul-seeker in manifest form.
