Rose quartz is one of the most desirable varieties of quartz. The pink to rose red color is completely unique, unlike any other pink mineral species. Rose quartz is used as an ornamental stone and as a gemstone. It is also an alternate birthstone for the month of January Name: Tiger's Eye Color: Gold-yellow, gold-brown Hardness: 6 1/2 - 7 Density: 2.58 -2.64 Transparency: Opaque Country: South Africa, Australia, Burma, India, Namibia, United States Typically display stripes, because included fibers are crooked or bent. It is sensitive to acids. Found together with hawk's eye in slabs of a few inches thickness.
