evidence to show the learned editor's knowledge in fundamentals of textual criticism and is suffigient, I think, to answer the allegations of some prejudiced minds about the quality of the publications made from the Oriental Research Institute, Mysore.
Sri Satyanarayana deserves our 'congratulatory appreciation for all the efforts he has directed to collate manuscripts found in different libraries of the country. I am quite sure that this young scholar and other Rescarch Scholars as well of the Institute would keep up the tradition of adding their own contribution to the towering fame of the Institute through publications. _. The statement 'करिस्मुलभाः लोके विज्ञातारस्तु दुर्लभाः' has found an exception in our beloved Vice Chancellor Dr. P. Selvie Das who has been a perennial source of inspiration for bringing out the best in the Scholars so as to promote the transmission of knowledge. The very encouragement given to us for organising Centenery Celebrations of Oriental Research Institute and the sufficient grants released this year for the publications of the Institute prove the point on hand. The University authorities like the Registrar; Prof. V. K. Nataraj, Deputy Registrar, Dr. Belliappa and Mr. G. E. Rugi, Finance Officr and other Offcials of the University, under the Stewardship of the ViceChanceller, have always evinced interest in the creative activities of the Institute. I have only profound thanks to them and to the members of the Syndicate and Finance Committee as well, for encouraging the activities of the Institute.
Our sensitive readers do deserve our gratitude for it is their aggreable response which would enthuse us to go ahead with the activities of the Institute. Mr. Siddegowda, the acting Director University Printing Press and Sri Chandrashekar of Chaaritra Printers, are hearby thanked for having made the publication of the work possible, :
