Place the compass in the middle of the building. Where the needle stops North direction is towards that side. 180 degrees from this side is South. 90 degrees to right side is East and 90 degrees to the left side is West. If the needle stops some where within 22.5 degrees this may be called a regular (Disha) plot. If beyond 22.5 degree the same may be called skewed (Vidisha) plot Disha East 2.5° E 11 WSW 247.5 ESE 135 SE 225 SW 202.5 Vidisha SSW 157,5 SSE SSW 180 S / South West Disha South Vidisha / South East Locating directions by observing Sun By looking at Sun we will able to mark directions approximately. 7:30 pm sun is partially towards North West. 5:00 am sun is partially towards North East. North West North North East is 6:00 am sun towards East. fully 6:00pm sun is fully towards West. W West Center East -------- 8:00 am sun is partially towards East-South East.
