(Transformations denote undergoing changes while retaining one's own nature. They may or may not have the beginning. They have a beginning in tangible objects. Activities and modes of soul have a beginning.)
These four sutras (Digambar version has only one.) discuss since when Parinaman (transformation) has been taking place in different substances. That pertains to the activities as well as the modes. Both these types may have a beginning in some substances and not in others.. They have a beginning in soul. Insentient matters undergo only modal transformations. They have a beginning among Pudgals, but those taking place in Dharmästikäy, Adharmästikäy and Äkäshästikäy are without beginning. Transformations among them have been taking place since the infinity.
