The book is a revised edition of the author's Ph-D. dissertation which is presented and arranged in five chapters including introduction and conclusion. In the introduction of the book, an attempt is made to take a stock of the earlier works of Rajchandra. The importance of the subject matter and the title of the work is also explained. The author takes a detailed critical survey of the primary and the secondary sources from which the data are collected. Life and works of Śrīmad have been dealt with in the second chapter. A special mention of Hillarut is also made for the clear understanding of Rajcandra's mind. JIROT (recollection of one's past births) has awakened Rajcandra's memory by occurance of the death of an elderly and coming neighbour of Rajcandra when the latter was very young. This completely changed the coures of Rajcandra's; spiritual life and view. The third chapter is devoted to the study of Srimad's philosophy and his way of salvation, as expressed in his monumental work आत्मधर्म or आत्मसिद्धि. आत्मसिद्धि is a summary of Rajcandra' philosophy. It deals with 'सम्यग्दर्शन-ज्ञान-चारित्राणि मोक्षमार्गः' : enunciated by Ācārya Umāsvāti in his Tattvārthasūtra. The author continues its exposition in the next chapter also, entitled, 'means of self-realization.' In the last chapter, chapter V, the author presents the summary of his observations. Here, he beautifully sums up the main tenets of Rajcandra's philosophy and suggests the further prospects in the study of the great saint. Philosophy and Spirituality of Śrīmad Rajcandra is a comprehensive work which deals its subject with respect, and helps in the understanding of the spirit of Rajcandra's life and worldview. The value of the work is enhanced by the inclusion oif śrīmad's 3caffa 3 in one of the appendices.
