Attachment Attachment is possessiveness.
अनासक्ति जिस प्रकार कीचड़ में पड़ा हुआ सोना कीचड़ से लिप्त नहीं होता, उसी प्रकार ज्ञानी संसार के पदार्थों में आसक्त नहीं रहने के कारण कर्म करता हुआ भी लिप्त नहीं होता। किन्तु जिस प्रकार लोहा कीचड़ में पड़कर जंग-ग्रस्त हो जाता है, वैसे ही अज्ञानी राग-भाव के कारण कर्म करता हुआ लिप्त हो जाता है।
Detachment Just as gold fallen in the sludge remains untainted, so also a self-realised person even while doing his worldly duties is not tainted by karmas. On the other hand, just as iron gets rusty when it falls in the sludge, so also an ignorant person due to attachment while doing his duties, is bound by karmas.
