the L. D. Institute of Indology has great pleasure in publishing the présent volume containing Haribhadra's Sanatukumāracariya (a section of his Neminahacariya, an Apabhramśa epic published in the L, D. Series - Nos. 25, 33) along with its Gurajati translation ,

I am thankful to Prof. H. C. Bhayani and Prof. M. C. Modi for preparing the Gujarati translation of the text. This will satisfy the need of the Gujarati readers interested in the study of Apabhramsa language and literature. The special feature of the present work is the studied introduction which traces the development of the story of Sanatkumāra, explains the metres, notes the peculiarities of the language and forms the estimate of the work. Again, the learned professors have edited here in the Parisista a hetherto unpublished Sanatkumāra-cakravartikathānaka (gātbas 1-322) contained in the unpublished Prakrit poem entitled Mallinātha-carita composed by the same Haribhadra.
I hope that this publication will be very useful to the students of Apabhramśa language.
