414. Form is not knowledge, as form does not know anything. Knowledge is one thing, form quite another. The conquerors say so.
वएणो णाणं ण हवदि जह्मा वएणो ण याणदे किंचि । तमा भएणं णाणं अण्णं वपणं जिणा विति ॥ ४१५ ॥ वर्णो ज्ञानं न भवति यस्माद्वर्णो न जानाति किञ्चित् । तस्मादन्यज्ज्ञानमन्यं वर्षे जिना वदन्ति ॥ ४१५ ॥
415. Colour is not knowledge, as colour does not know anything. Therefore knowledge is one thing, colour quite another. The conquerors say so.
गंधोणाणं ण हवदि जमा गंधो ण याणदे किंचि । तह्मा गाणं अण्णं अण्णं गं, जिणा विति ॥ ४१६॥ गंधो ज्ञानं न भवति यस्माद्धो न जानाति किंचित् । तस्माज्ज्ञानमन्यदन्यं गंधं जिना वदंति ॥४१६ ॥
416. Smell is not knowledge, as smell does not know anything. Therefore knowledge is one thing, smell is quite another. The conquerors say so.
ण रसो दु होदि णाणं जमा दु रसो अचेदणो णिश्च । तह्मा भएणं णाणं रसं च भएणं जिणा चिंति ॥ ४१७॥ न रसस्तु भवति ज्ञानं यस्मात्तु रसो अचेतनो नित्यम् । तस्मादन्यज्ज्ञानं रसं चान्यं जिना वदन्ति ॥ ४१७ ॥
417. Nor taste is knowledge, as taste is indeed always unconscious. Therefore knowledge is one thing, and taste quite another. The conquerors say so.
फासो णाणं ण हवादि जमा फासो ण याणदे किंचि। तमा भएणं णाणं अएणं फासं जिणा विति॥४१८॥
