________________ INDEX OF AUTHORS. Asyamitra Pupil of Aryamahagiri, of the Kandinya gotra, author of the fourth heresy, in the year 220 from Vira's nirvana. 4, 94. See Weber pp. 1000 and 1032. Asaga Author of a Vardhamanacharitra. He was a pupil of Naganandin (whose proficiency in grammar is referred to); and he was induced to write his book by Aryanandin. 4, 163. Anandavimala Guru of the Vijayavimalagani who wrote a Gachchhacharaprakirnakavritti. 5, 162, Anandavimala is No. 56 of the Tapagachchhapattavali. “Born Samvat 1547 at Iladurga; vrata 1552 ; suripada 1570 ; died 1596, Chaitra sudi 7, at Ahmedabad.” Compare Weber, pp. 998 and 1014. Anandasuri Guru of Amaraprabhasuri ( Samvat 1344). 5, 110. A teacher of that name is also referred to at 5, 87. Apajibhatta Haribhaskara, son of Haribhatta, and author of the Paribhashabhaskara, was known by the name of Apajibhattasuta. Apajibhatta, therefore, was another name of Haribhatta. This would appear to be the real meaning of the colophon. But Aufrecht and Eggeling (p. 303), who make Apajibhatta the son of Haribhatta and father of Haribhaskara, may be right. Compare Rajendralal, 2, 127. 4, 20. Amradeva Of the Purnatalliyagachchha. 5,165.
