Kshemakarna The second of the five sops of Lala, a noted astromer of Kanyakubja. His elder brother was Devidasa ; and his three younger brothers were Narayana, Chaturbhujamisra and Damodara. This last was the father of Balabhadra, the author of the Horaratna. 4, 63. Compare Weber, p. 264, where an account will be found of the Hayanaratna, a work by Harirama, who is mentioned here as Balabhadra's brother. Kshemakirti Author, in Samvat 1332, of a commentary on the Brihatkalpasutra. He gives the following account of himself After homage paid to Bhadrabahu author of the text and to the authors of the Bhashya and Churni respectively, he tells how Dhanesvara arose in tbe Chandragachchba. In his line there came in course of time 1. Blavanendrasuri. He was succeeded by 2. Devabhadra. He had three pupils and saecessors 3. Jagachchandra, Devendra and Vijayendu (See under Vijayachandra in previous Index of Authors). Of these Vijayendu or Vijayachandra had three pupils 4. Vajrasena, Padmachandra and our author Kshemakirti. 5, 104.
