________________ Dr. Ludwig Alsdorf, Hamburg University (Germany) (1) Hamburg, 17th April. 1924 Dear Suri, I want to thank you for your great kindness of sending me a copy of your interesting and thoughtful discourse, from the reading and studying of which I derived great pleasure. This kindness of yours has been further incitement to me to pursue the studies already began, of the profound doctrines of your faith. At present I am studying Gujarati, so as to be able to read what has been written on the subject of Jaina religion, without being restricted to the works written in Sanscrit. It has been a great source of enjoyment to me not only to study the thoughts expressed in your discourse, but the pleasure of reading the graceful and finished sanscrit sentences has been almost as great. I hope you will forgive me for not writing sogner. but my work does not leave me much spare time. I trust that you are quite well and remain, Yours sincerely, LUDWIG ALSDORF.
