'The word "that” refers to the exhaustion of all karman and the absence of the states (of the jīva), such as those due to the suppression of the deluding karman and the state of being capable of attaining liberation' (tac-chabdena krtsna-karma-kşayaḥ parāmrsyate aupaśamikādi-bhavyatvābhāvo vā. TT 10.5). 26 'After having expanded, the liberated one moves upwards' (anu san tatam eva muktaḥ sann urdhvam eva gacchati.
