THE SOUTH INDIAN HUMANITARIAN LEAGUE.
PRIZE ESSAY COMPETITIONS.
In view of the ensuing summer vacation, the League is offering an excellent opportunity to the students of the High Schools and Colleges in the Madras Presidency to engage them. selves in humanitarian work and also get due recognition of it from the League.
The League awards two prizes of gold medals of the value of two and one sovereigns each to the (a) Best Reports of the humanitarian work (particularly of saving animal lives) done by the writer, or, (b) Best Essays on the Diet Question," written by the students of the,High Schools in any language they may choose, and by the Students of the Colleges in their mothertongue.

Further Prizes of Rs. 10 and 5 for the Best songs with proper Raga and Thala, in Tamil and Telugu on humanitarian subjects. Any one may go in for this competition. The songs sent in must be quite original and specially prepared for the League.
All Essays and songs must be sent to the undersigned on or before the 30th of June 1927, with a declaration as to the bona fides of the writer and the originality of the Essays and
songs.
