A very beautiful and inspiring Coloured Picture of
Bhagwan Sri Parsvanatha.
This is an excellent picture of Lord Sri Parsvanatha, the 23rd Tirthankara printed in very delightful and attractive colours. As is related in the Shastras the Lord is of the blue colour. He is seen sitting immersed in divine contemplation or dyana, with the five hooded Nagendra spreading his hood and giving shelter over the Lord's sacred head. Nagendra is painted yellowish red. There is a supremely serene and spiritual smile in the Lord's divine countenance. Before the hallowed presence of the Bhagwan even the fierce tiger and the innocent deer forget their cruelty and cowardice respectively and are found to lie close to each other intently gazing upon the Lord's magnetic personality. The streaked tiger and spotted deer are very tastefully drawn. The Lord is found sitting on the bank of a delightful lotus pond in which are found two milk-white swans gracefully swimming. The whole scene is laid in the morning sun-light by the side of a thick wood on the slopes of a majestic range of hills. The Artist has left nothing to be desired and there is an air of hallow and purity pervading the whole picture. It is supremely grand, and attractive. In short it is rapturously divine and divinely rapturous and every Jaina should have a copy of this picture.
