________________ PROPOSED PLAN The proposed Jain Bhavan Complex will have three functional areas as follows: 1. A Religious Complex which will include the Derasar and Gyan Mandir. It will be located in the existing Jain Bhavan building which will be renovated. 2. A Cultural Complex which will include a large meeting hall, the wooden temple, a museum, and an underground parking facility. It will be located in a new building to be erected next to the existing Jain Bhavan facility. 3. Atma Sadhana Kendra which will include facilities for Swadhay and Pathshala activities and National Jain Library. It will be located in the existing Post Office Building which will be renovated. PROPOSED FACILITIESIAMENITIES Following major facilities will be included in the proposed Jain Bhavan Complex. 1. Derasar: The existing Derasar will be renovated and expanded to accommodate more people during pujas and other religious ceremonies. Addition of a bhumati and a dome are under consideration. Outside appearance will be renovated to resemble a temple. 2. Meeting Hall: A new hall (8,000 to 10,000 sq. ft.) will accommodate large audiences. 3. Classrooms: Adequate number of properly-sized and properly-equipped rooms will be available to support Pathshala and Swadhyay activities. 4. Kitchen: Nearly twice the size of the existing facility will be provided. 5. Restrooms: Adequate restrooms and shower (for Pooja) facilities will be provided. 6. Wooden Temple: The temple (20' x 20' x 35' high) will be a prominent feature of the entry foyer and it will be integrated with an adjoining museum. 7. JAINA National Library: An expanded library will house a collection of over 8000 books, audio and video tapes, and CDs being assigned to our Center. 8. Parking: An underground parking facility will provide parking and may be used as a play area for children or additional dining area.
