earlier, there is no gf891 of the copyist in the ms, and so we do not know its date. But from several traits and style of writing, we can justly conclude that it is fairly recent, may be very much near . if not later than it
From what we have stated above, it can be surmised that(i) There is greater affinity amongst ang and T (ii) in all probability, the model ms. of 91. is different. (iii) It seems almost certain that one of the mss. used by at. is 7. or its proto
type or copy. (iv) Perhaps 41. was available to 1, and . (v) Maximum affinity is there between 9. and 31. (vi) With all this, as things stand at present, 91. has its own independent status
and value.
Though not the earliest, the ms. at the L.D. Institute of Indology, Ahmedabad, is in very good condition, very legible, consists of few corrections, and is complete in all respects. We took it as the basic ms. and prepared our first copy with its belp. After that we read our copy against the other three mss. and noted all variant readings and also made all necessary corrections. The mss. from Vadodara and Patan helped us to resolve most of the problems of critical recension. This is not surprising because they are very much near to the original work and also to its V4A175 We then proceeded to reasonable choice of readings. The usefulness of all the four 'mss. can in no way be underestimated. The final critical edition that now appears in print, has accepted all the four mss. as almost equally authentic. The due contribution of each ms, in the preparation of this critical edition is noted in the brief details of each ms. given above.
The great of the Vrtti is given in 21 verses after the fast of the fifth Pariccheda, 21. also adds a prose passage indicating the completion of the work. 8 The 21 verses give to us full details of the entire line of his great predecessors and the guru of the Vrttikara, We have here also full information about Jnānapramodagani, his scholarship and how he got the 991 of his work prepared with greatest effort and care by his aged and learned pupil, quarta for by name.

So far the following editions of the work are known : 8 (i) Edition by A. Barooah, Calcutta, 1883. (ii) Edition with an old gloss, by Ksemaraja Srikrishnadasa, Bombay, 1894.
