Towards the end of the famine and in the absence of Bhadrabahu a council assembled at Patliputra, modern Patna and collected 11 Angas, 14 Purvas which collectively called the 12 angas. The trouble that arose after twelve years of famine, laid the foundation of divison in Jain sect. The rule regardin the dress code for the ascetics that they should go necked altogether. Some adopted white dress. Those who had migrated refused to hold fellowship with those who remained behind at home. This difference gave birth to first two sects, the Digamber & Swetamber.
