In so doing, the healer shows the patient how to heal her/himself. Brother Mandus sees the healer as a “praying partner," an intercessor, who is caught up and illumined by God as a channel through which“ ... the infinite perfection of God shines.” Oh Shinnah emphasizes that by“... becoming free of the attachment to being the doer,” one thereby becomes“ . . . an integral part of the doing,” the healing process itself. “Anyone who wishes to help ‘make better must develop a deep sense of love and compassion, which is a reflection of one's spiritual self.” She continues, “Healing is innate . . . . Life (itself) is the gift of touch. We serve, and that is all we do.” She speaks strongly to the importance of developing a true sense of commitment to be disciplined in all modes of healing, and to the necessity of“ ... the practice of surrender in the everyday events of our lives.” Vivid word pictures bring to life the moment of her insight into the healing enactment: "Illuminated, the spark of my essence caught fire : . . consuming rage and regret.” OTHER THAN HUMAN AGENTS OF HEALING Brother Mandus agrees in the potential of human resources when he says: “Healing is everyone's ability and facility.” In addition, Brother Mandus has no difficulty in perceiving that help in the healing act can come from other than human resources: “... there could be a Heavenly Host helping with Divine Healing Services. I have no difficulty in believing that shining ones in the next plane of vibration, or even loved ones, can come into the atmosphere of prayer to help someone on Earth in the healing scene.” Oh Shinnah confirms that healing does not only comePage Navigation
