________________ GURUDEV SHREE CHITRABHANU the patient feel that something is being done for him. In general the patient is not too highly evolved or enlightened. Therefore he cannot read the mind of the would be healer. He believes that all those demonstrations mean that something is being done for him. A healer may hold his hand up skyward and say, “I am bringing down energy,” and the patient will think, “Oh, My God, how much energy he is drawing down to me.” But if the healer sits calmly and sends beautiful vibrations, the patient will think indignantly, “He is not doing anything - he is just sitting there relaxing!” Many healers make significant gestures and appear to summon great powers in order to convince and help the patient. Conviction is the main thing. So many illnesses have started from doubt, fear, and ignorance of natural laws. But with absolute faith, these fears are removed and the person is again in a state of health, perhaps temporary for most hypnotism anesthetizes the pain or sickness and lasts only a few weeks. A capable healer can treat any person and deal with any disease, and for ten days the person will not feel any pain if a deep impression has been made on his subconscious mind. This must be created in part before the patient arrives. He should be told that the healer has tremendous power to heal. One touch and he will feel marvelous, his disease will be gone. Before the sick person comes into the presence, he anticipates. When he meets the healer, he feels the aura that has been built up. Soon he feels convinced that he is completely cured of his conditiðn. The matter is there, but his mind has worked on it, so his disorder has subsided. But the patient has not really been cured of the cause of his disease, although the symptoms have relaxed. The inner conviction that the person is healed will fade with time and the pressure of the outside world. No person should claim that he or she is a healer. ThatPage Navigation
