But Puranas mentions that Maha Bali was a Saivite and we have the indication that Saivism was indeed an outgrowth of Christianity among the Dravidians. Thus we have Vaishanvism of North and Saivism of South both emerging from the historic Christianity. Later they developed into Hinduism as we know today.
