The work is in ten chapters and is an exhaustive treatise on the subject of Yoga and the duties of those who practise it.

श्रीरामाय नमः ॥ श्रीगुरवे नमः ॥
श्रीनारद उवाच ॥
यस्तुष्टादौ त्वया नाथ मुनिसिखैरनेकधा ॥ अनेकशास्त्रमर्यादा कथिता परमेश्वर ॥१॥ प्रसन्नो भव देवेश भवदुःखविनाशनः ।। अनेकशास्त्रभ्रमणादस्माकं भ्रामितं मनः ॥ २ ॥
एतच कारणं किंचिन्कि योगः प्रोच्यते श्रुतौ ॥ योगं च विषं प्रोक्तं नानात्वं तस्य दृश्यते ॥ ३ ॥ etc.
