The mind has a teleological (?) basis and so it is bound to gather knowledge and in time to develop, and by reason of its teleological (?) basis, when first coming to know of an object, the mind is not satisfied to stay, it wants to know more and more about that object, which causes the mind to analyse. (3) The third stage is that of synthesis where all the various things discovered in the analysis are thought of or put together and viewed as one unit; each thing being recognized as having the whole unit for the cause of its existene — where it is seen that the part is dependent upon the whole for its existence. And then comes the searching out of the relations which the object bears to other objects in the universe.
