The individuality persists for ever and continually develops until it becomes perfect.) So we learn from this lecture that knowledge is gained from observation of physical objects. By. using the sight, etc., we get sensations from objects. By using the mind we classify, compare, deduct laws and synthesize the observations, and so get concepts and ideas. The main idea is that the physical eye sight is to be used to examine objects, as distinguished from the practice of sitting and thinking abstractedly of and about what might be or what ought to be.
