as convincing froot that the works are by different authors when the contrary 1 established by categorical statement
This work was taken up for publication when Dr. P. K. Nārāyana Pillai was the Curator of this Library. The work was edited and prepared for publication by Sri K. S. Mabādeva Sistri, under the direction of of Sri Nārāyaṇa Pillai. The edition, as above stated is based entirely on one manuscript - and that too defective (No. 10863) secured by Sri E. V. Raman Nambatiri. The editors have not, therefore, been able to convince themselves that the readings are quite correct. Several portions of the manus:ript have crumbled down, and 80 the text as now available is tull of lacune. Scribal errors are also numerous which make the work of the editors extremely difficult. But they have endeavoured to the best of their ability to present as good an edition of the work as possible. Their apology is that this work, with all the shortcomings of the present edition, is bound to be of immense inicrest to the students of Sanskrit literature.
We hope that the indulgent scholars will overlook the deiects and extend their warm welcome to this publication,
