(6) To manage or enter into any other working arrangements with other Societies having any of their objects similar or allied to any of the objects of the Society. (7) To undertake such activities as are incidental and conducive, directly or indirectly, to and in furtherance of any of the above objects From its inception the Prakrit Text society was fortunate to receive the active support of His Excellency Dr. Rajendra Prasad, President, Republic of India, who very kindly consented to become its Chief Patron and also one of the six Founder Members.* The Prakrit Text society has plainly taken inspiration from the Pali Text society of London as regards its publication programme, of which the plan is as follows: I Āgamic Literature अंग-आचार, सूत्रकृत, स्थान, समवाय, व्याख्याप्रज्ञा, ज्ञाताधर्मकथा, उपासक, अन्तकृत, अनुत्तरौपपातिक, प्रश्नव्याकरण, विपाक । उपांग-औपपातिक, राजप्रश्नीय, जीवाजीवाभिगम, प्रज्ञापना, सूर्यप्रज्ञप्ति, चन्द्रप्रज्ञप्ति, कल्पिका, कल्पावतंसिका, पुष्पिका, पुष्पचूलिका, वृष्णिदशा । मूलसूत्र-आवश्यक, दशवैकालिक, उत्तराध्ययन, पिण्डनियुक्ति, ओघनियुक्ति । छेदसूत्र-निशीथ, महानिशीथ, बृहत्कल्प, व्यवहार, दशाश्रुतस्कन्ध, कल्पसूत्र, जीतकल्प । प्रकीर्णक-चतुःशरण, आतुरप्रत्याख्यान, भक्तपरिज्ञा, तन्दुलवैचारिक, चन्द्रवेध्यक, देवेन्द्रस्तव, गणिविद्या, महाप्रत्याख्यान, संस्तारक, मरणसमाधि, गच्छाचारप्रकीर्णक, ऋषिभाषित, आदि । II Āgamic Commentaries नियुक्ति, संग्रहणी, भाष्य, चूर्णि, वृत्ति, टीका, बालावबोध आदि । III Agamic Prakaranas समयसार आदि IV Classical Prakrit Literature काव्य (पउमचरिय आदि), नाटक (कर्पूरमंजरी आदि), आख्यान-कथा (वसुदेवहिण्डी, धम्मिल्लहिण्डि, समराइच्चकहा आदि), पुराण (चउपन्नमहापुरिस आदि) V Scientific Literature Grammar, Lexicography, Metrics, Rhetorics, Astronomy, Mathematics, Arts and other Sciences. The Society has selected as the first item of its publication programme an ancient text known as the Angavijjā. It had not been published so far and is an exceptionally rich source of Indian cultural history. Like Buddhist Mahāvyutpatti it has preserved valuable lists appertaining to the realia of Indian life. The readers can form an idea of its contents from the Introduction in English and in Hindi printed in the beginning of the text. Other Founder Members are - Shri Muni Punyavijayji, Acharya Vijayendra Suri, Shri V. S. Agrawala, Shri Jainendra Kumar, Shri Fatechand Belaney. Shri Belaney acted as Society's Secretary from the beginning upto May 1957 and displayed great organising ability in founding the Society.
