beloved. What is necessary, therefore, is to awaken a sense of irrepressible attraction and restlessness for the Lord. As he says "My body and mind are grieved for the want of Thee; O my Beloved! Come to my house....I have no taste for food, I have no sleep; my heart is ever restless within doors and without. As water is to the thirsty, so is the lover to the bride....Kabir is restless: he is dying for the sight of Him." The Lord hides Himself from the devotees and also wonderfully reveals Himself to them. The Lord Himself brings the various kinds of experiences of sorrow and joy to souls. Kabir believes that one can meet the Lord only by awakening faith and immense love for the Lord; He cannot be known by reason. He says "Hark to the unstruck bells and drums! Take your delight in love.... They are blind who hope to see it by the light of reason, that reason which is the cause of separation. The House of Reason, is very far away.' ." Thus, the world of Lord has to be experienced directly, and has not to be understood indirectly and mediately by means of words and symbols. The way to meet the Lord is one of intercommunion with Him by becoming one, body and soul, with Him just as the sense of separation cannot exist in the union of the bride with her beloved. He says "Hang the body and the mind between the arms of the Beloved, in the ecstacy of deepest longings of your heart..bring the vision of the Beloved in your Heart." Thus,
