Avas 15. Sincere contrition destroys, annihilates both the fault and its consequences. Each pratikramana performed in full sincerity constitutes a return to the state which existed before the fault was committed. It is noteworthy that this sūtra contains: condemnation of the faults, specification of those commilments to which they relate and repentance, which is the expression of a firm resolution to become cleansed from all trace of impurity.
