On occasion they are somewhat dogmatic in approach and pessimistic about present-day conditions of life, but quite exceptional gifts are needed to be able to transmit in contemporary language the essence of the doctrine and awaken people's spirits. In this regard the mind turns to Mahāsati Ujjvalakumāri and Sadhvi Vicaksaņa, who did indeed possess these gifts. Nowadays it is their disciples, as well as other sādhvis and äryikās, who are pursuing this immense necessary and difficult task.
