He thought : "The work appears: to have been certainly finished. The watchmen appear to have killed Champak and gone to throw him in a well. Now what purpose is there in going back to the house." . Thinking so, the Sheth slept down on one of the cots lying there and covered himself with a sheet. On this side, the watchmen returned to that side during the course of search for Champak. They saw a man, Vrudhdhdatt, sleeping there. So they said: “We definitely knew. How could he go away from here ? Naturally he could only be somewhere nearby. Here he is
