________________ 404 Amarsen said: “Yes, brother ! A man who keeps himself awake gets. He who goes to sleep loses. I shall lose at least my fatigue by going to sleep." · When Amarsen spoke so with a smile, Vayarsen said : “What you said is correct. But when two are together, the one who does not sleep awakens the one who is sleeping. Thus the one who gets does not cause loss to the other.” Amarsen then went to sleep. Vayarsen kept himself awake and kept watching. Amarsen and Vayarsen were passing the night by sleeping and awaking respectively under a tree. A couple of parrots was sitting on that very tree. Seeing both the princes in the milky white moonlight spread all around, the she-parrot said to the maleparrot : "Swami ! To-day two guests have come to our place. We should greet and treat them as such.” The male-parrot said :
