66. श्री सुविधनाथ स्वामी
___ इसके पश्चात काँकंडि के शासक महाराज सुग्रीव थे और उनकी रानी रमा थी। उस दम्पति का पुत्र होकर श्री सुविध नाथ स्वामी ने आषाढ शुद्ध पंचमी के दिन जन्म लिया। समस्त ऐश्वर्यों को प्राप्त करके आषाढ शुद्ध तृतीया के दिन श्री सुविधनाथ स्वामी ने सन्यासी दीक्षा स्वीकार कर ली। उन्होंने समस्त कर्मों को छोड़ कर कार्तीक बहुळ तृतीया के दिन केवल ज्ञान को प्राप्त किया और वे अर्हत हुए और नौवाँ तीर्थङ्कर बन गये। उनके निर्याण भाद्रपद बहुळा नवमी के दिन हुआ।
66 SHRI SUVIDHANATHASWAMY
The 9th of the Tirthankaras is Shri Suvidhanathaswamy. He was the son of King Sugriva and Queen Rama of Kakandi. It was on an Ashadha Shuddha Panchami (corresponding to the fifth day in the waxing phase of the fourth month of the lunar calendar) that his birth occured. He also enjoyed all the material pleasures for some time before becoming surfeited and on a certain Ashadha Bahula Thadiya, (corresponding to the third day in the waning phase of the fourth month of the lunar calendar) Shri Suvidhanathaswamy took the vow of Sanyasa. After having broken all the bonds of Karma, he became a Kevalin and thus an Arhantha on a certain Karthika Bahula Thadiya (corresponding to the third day of the waning phase in the eighth month of the lunar calendar). He thus became the 9th of the Tirthankaras. He attained Supreme Bliss on a Bhadrapada Bahula Navami (corresponding to the ninth day in the waning phase of the sixth month in the lunar calendar).
