It is one's own make-up You have created certain things You can destroy them or undo them also. You are thinking in one way now "I am Mr So and So I am a Brahmin I am a doctor I m stout I am a householder.” This is Prarabdha You can change this particular mode of thinking Think: “I am Brahman. I am omnipotent. I am the witness or Sakshi I am God I am neither the body nor the mind I am the all-pervading Truth or pure consciousness.” This is Purushartha 9 CONDUCT "According as he acts and according as he conducts himself, so will he be "_Bri Upanishad Conduct is the cause of the quality of new birth The Upanishads declare "Those whose conduct has been good will quickly attain some good birth, the birth of a Brahmin or a Kshatriya or a Vaishya, when the fruits of their good works have been all exhausted in the Chandraloka or the sphere of the moon Bui those whose conduct has been evil will quickly attain an evil birth, the birth of a dog or hog In some places conduct is spoken of not as Purushartha but as Karmanga In this case it produces no separate result, what, if considered as Purushartha, it has a special result of its own 225
