'प्रणम्य जगदाधारं सर्गस्थित्यन्तकारणम् । संपूज्य भार्गवः पृष्टो वन्दितः पूजितस्तुतः ॥ पूर्वदेवैर्यथान्यायं नीतिसारमुवाच तान् । शतलक्षश्लोकमितं नीतिशास्त्रमथोक्तवान् ।। स्वयंभूर्भगवॉल्लोकहितार्थ संग्रहेण वै । तत्सारं तु वशिष्ठाद्यैरस्मामिद्धिहेतवे ॥ अल्पायुर्भूभृदायर्थ संक्षिप्तं तर्कविस्तृतम् । क्रियेकदेशबोधीनि शाखाण्यन्यानि सन्ति हि॥
