It tells us that this desire of Indian women is merely a mad craving. The gift of children depends upon one's religious merits. Propitiating gods or goddesses or trying any other means won't bring children. Rather, from a Jain point of view doing such things is a sin and produces a bad result. Religious practices are the only means of getting out of all such worldly worries and troubles. And even these religious practices are to be done not with a view to satisfy that craving but simply to accumulate merit. An if even then that craving is not sastisfied one is not to mind it but neglect it and become more and more engrossed in those practices thinking that 'very strong are the fetters of Karma with.which one is bound.'
